  • "Asbestos-Free House for Health and Safety" - under such name, in March 2006, the MURATOR S. A. started a nationwide education campaign supported by the Ministry of Economy and Environment. Its main goal was to reach owners of buildings where the roofing was made of materials containing asbestos, raise their awareness of its harmfulness and show how to utilize the material safely in accordance with legal regulations.
    Since March, "Murator" monthly has published articles dealing with the harmful effects of asbestos. The editorial team, together with experts, provides advice on how to prepare to replace the roofing, where to find the financial resources and what formalities need to be completed.
    The campaign was accompanied by a competition for readers, the results of which were published in the July edition of "Murator". Three people won a full service comprising of the removal of  asbestos tiles from roofs and asbestos waste removal and storage as well as the construction of new roofing including initial roof work and gutter installation.
    The coverage of the whole process of roofing removal and replacement in the main winners' houses was published in "Murator".

The goal of the campaign

  • Promoting the idea of replacement and utilization of elements containing asbestos in roofs and elevations. Convincing house owners to replace elements containing asbestos before the harmful material affects their health or possibly even their life...
  • Demonstrating ways of safely removing and utilizing  the harmful material.
  • Involving municipalities and the media in the campaign which should bring about notable effects in local communities: indicating places where asbestos waste is recycled, utilization co-financing.
